Meet the Crank Arm Brew Crew!

Meet the men and women behind the beer. Without this talented group, the quality craft beer we make in Raleigh wouldn’t be a reality.

Michael Morris

A graduate of North Carolina State University with a B.S. in environmental sciences, Michael has been in the brewing profession for over 16 years now.  Along the way he has won four Great American Beer Festival medals while working in Raleigh and the D.C. metro area, including Southend, Big Boss, Natty Greene's, and Capitol City Brewing.  Since opening Crank Arm in 2013, he has also won 15 in-state awards at the Carolina Beer Championships and the North Carolina Brewer's Cup, including Best In Show for the Rickshaw Rye IPA.  He strives to create consistent beers while pushing the envelope with new and creative brews.  Sorry ladies, he is married to the wonderful and talented Heather Smith and has four wonderful babies; that's two dogs, Charlotte and Emma, and two cats, Leonard and Nimoy.
